Evony Age II (Age 2) Beta Change

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

In the previous article, we described how the Evony Age II beta server was finally released. Unfortunately, Evony decided that the server was not yet ready to completely be tested, so they closed the beta server. The beta server is no longer up but you may monitor its status to see when it comes online, at the Evony Server Status page.

We all await Evony’s word on when the Age II (beta) will be open for testing again.

Evony Age 2 (Age II) Beta

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Evony has long promised that they were working hard on an Age 2 (Age II). Finally, the time is near! Evony has opened a beta server for people to test the new Evony age.

Beta server:

  • Server: Evony Age II Beta. Server Link: beta.evony.com
  • The server’s account limit is 15,000. The registration portal will be closed once the limit is hit. Daily maintenance will clear all inactive accounts. Inactive accounts are specified as: 1) failure to login the beta server in 48 hoursyou’re your prestige is less than 10,000. The registration portal will be reopened when the clearance is finished.
  • 1,000 game cents will be delivered to every account when the maintenance is done.
  • Beta server may be closed or reopened for registration or reset players’ accounts at anytime without notice.
  • The beta server will be taken offline two weeks before the launch of the live server.

Due to this new release, I’ve added the beta server to the Evony Server Status.

There are a lot of new items in Evony Age 2 ranging from Heroes Gear & Attributes, Stratagem, Quest items.

Let’s work together to figure out the secrets of Evony Age II at the dedicated Evony wiki. Edit in what you know!

Evony Forum Happenings in July

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Today, I’d like to take the time to describe some of the happenings at the Evony forum boards:

Ever since the release of iEvony Beta, the official Evony forums and on all the Evony servers and worlds, players have been heatedly discussing and debating about iEvony. As I discussed earlier, iEvony is a client that allows members to gain credits, which can be turned into Game Cents. Obviously, everyone wants free money & Game Cents, so hundreds upon hundreds of players piled threads into the Evony forums in attempt to gain more credits for themselves. There are over 328, different threads (and some of them have hundreds of posts in them) about iEvony within just over a week of release. Remember, this is only in beta as well!

Recently, NPCs & Medals are the hottest spot of discussion for Evony Guides, due to the everchanging variables. When will the level 10 NPC be changed next? What’s the current Medals drop rate?

Evony has, in theory, four liasons now. Dawnseeker, Swansea, Thalin Athasian, and Valkirah. Unfortunately, we have not heard hide nor heels from Valkirah and he has done nothing but post an introduction.

Evony Ads

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Evony ads are one of the hot topics of discussion. Evony players were not very happy with the explicit ads that were being displayed a month ago, but now they found a new ad which they say is “downright outrageous”. The Evony players do not want to be embarrassed by the ads, or even look at the ads. The users say that this is a cheap marketing style.

Truth be told, the majority of Evony members do not have a problem with the ads, especially since the administration has declared they are “only shown on adult-material sites anyways”. Therefore, the children are not affected which is the main conflict.

I’m sure we haven’t heard the last of the ads, and I’m sure there will always be disagreements. In the end, we must trust the company to do what they think is best for Evony.

iEvony

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

iEvony is the newest hit in Evony. Described as a way to gain game cents, all you have to do is refer a few friends, and you have game coins!

“Have you ever wished you could earn Evony Game Coins totally FREE? Here it is! You can now earn game coins just by telling your friends and family about Evony! Every time you recommend a friend and they successfully sign up for an account, we will reward you with a certain amount of Credits and increase your Discount Quota for each recommendation! Credits can be exchanged for Evony Game Items or Game Coins on our website for FREE! All you have to do is refer your friends and tell them about Evony! What could be easier?

iEvony is used to invite your friends to become Evony players. In return, it will give you Credits and increase your Discount Quota on Cent purchases! iEvony gives you a URL address that is unique to you. You are assigned the URL when you register and you can login to the Member Center on the official website to see the URL address at any time. When someone clicks your link and signs up for Evony, it will award you points which will accrue to award you Credits and increase your Discount Quota on Cent purchases!”

Now what I see, and many others see, as the most appealing reward for earning credits through referring, is the long-awaited alliance member limit extension. The Ritual of Pact (Advanced, Premium, and Ultimate) gives alliance hosts and members a chance to change their member limit to 1,000! That’s right, extend your member limit to 1k. The only downside is it only lasts 15 days, 30 days, or 90 days depending on how many credits you spend. You need 4,500 credits to extend your member limit to 1k for 15 days, 12,000 for 30 days, and 30,000 for 90 days.

Although this is extremely difficult to get, the work is well worth the time. 1,000 members could easily mean 9,000 cities to dominate an entire region!

If you’d like to be invited to join iEvony, please send an email to [email protected]

iEvony and Evony Queen

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

The following are some of the changes and updates the Evony developers have made in the last few weeks:

“In response to feedback from our players, we have changed some of the rules for the Queen of Evony voting to make the election more fair and free from bias. We are changing the following rules:

* Everyone who votes receives an award. No special reward will be given for people who voted for the winning candidate. We are doing this to avoid the “bandwagon” effect. We want players feel free to choose the candidate they like the best, not the candidate they think is most likely to win.

* Votes are no longer visible while the election is in progress. We will keep a tally but it will be hidden until voting is complete. Once again, this is to avoid the band wagoning.

* Because we believe the original election was unfair (due to the above reasons), we are going to reset the vote count. Everyone who voted previously may vote again in this fresh poll.

We believe these changes will lead to a more fair election in which all the candidates have an equal chance. Thank you for your feedback and we appreciate your patronage. We are all very excited about electing a queen and we hope you are too, so get out there and start voting, and may the best Queen win”

“Evony is announcing that iEvony, a very exciting application where you are able to obtain cents for free as well as credits which can be turned in for amazing in-game rewards which otherwise are unable to purchase, is being released as Open Beta.

However this Open Beta is on an invite only. Are you wanting to be one of the few who gain a special invitation code? Here are a few ways:

1. Start asking your alliance. Most likely someone there has obtained the special invitation code and software, which they can then invite you in on the Open Beta program.

2. Start asking your friends!

3. Ask on the world chat channel! Someone may invite!

4. Go to the Evony Forums, General Discussion, at the iEvony: Open Beta – Requesting Invitation Code thread. You may get selected!

I will be deleting any off-topic items here or comments. Multiple requests from a user will be met with a short vacation for that user. Your post may be deleted if you’ve been given a unique iEvony code.

Note: iEvony has nothing to do with the iPhone so please stop posting about needing one. iEvony is a client.”

Early June Changes

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

I believe that it’s time for me to inform you all about the updates and changes the UMGE or Evony, has made. I know some of you may be confused over a few things, so I will clarify everything as best I can.

– Over the course of 5 days, Evony released 5 new servers. For more information on this, click HERE.

– Evony then proceeded to releasing Server 15, Server 16, Server 17, World 1, World 2, and World 3. So what exactly is a World? Is it a special server that Evony has opened? In terms of the game and game-play, Worlds are no different. The servers and Worlds are exactly the same to play. The only difference is that Worlds are directed towards non-English speaking players. They’ve opened 17 English servers, so it’s only natural that they release some other language servers. I cannot say how many Worlds we can expect to see.

– Evony has changed the Walls defense so that if somebody has level 7 walls and has Rockfall, an attackers Ballista can be damaged. This makes it extremely difficult for people to farm NPCs over the level of 5, and makes players defense that much more important. To make this more realistic, Evony will re-name Rockfall to Defensive Trebuchet on June 10th.

– The Evony forum has some new moderators. It’s great to see Zim, Alusair, Thor, and Kittiana out there to help the moderating team manage the boards.

That’s all for now, folks. Be sure to keep your eyes open for the next addition!

5 New Servers

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

A whole slew of new servers have been released at Evony.

Evony released Server 10 on May 28th, 2009.

Evony released Server 11 on May 31st, 2009.

Evony released Server 12 on June 2nd, 2009.

Evony released Server 13 on June 2nd, 2009.

Evony released Server 14 on June 3rd, 2009.

These servers do not have anywhere near as many players as servers 1-9, but are still growing admirably. I think we can expect to continue to see new servers being released.

May Lag

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Evony, the newest hit in the MMORTS gaming world, has over 500,000 players. Unfortunately with all these players, Evony has had a lot of lagging problems, where various servers are down and in-accessible. Players are forced to stare at the ticking clock, and many have gotten angry (and rightly so). I’d like to say that this is very common in early stage MMOs so members really should back off a bit. Yes, you have a right to complain a bit and ask for better service. The developers have heard the pleas and are trying their best.

As of May 28th, 2009, the developers latest solution to preventing lag, is by creating more servers to even out the load. In addition, Evony has made an auto-reconnect when a player is “kicked” or loses connection with the server he/she is on.

Another great upcoming feature is an official Evony Server Status page. The programmers are working hard to release this so that people can view the availability of servers at their leisure.

May News

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

Well, I think it’s time for me to give you guys the summary of Evony’s development in the last couple weeks.

– Evony has opened several new servers for old and new players to play on. Since my last development post, Evony has released Server 6, Server 7, Server 8, and Server 9.

– Evony has selected two new forum moderators to help manage the forum boards: Cyhort & Kitiara.

– Evony has officially announced that they will be “pruning” inactive players on all the servers.

  • Accounts with less than 100 prestige will be flagged inactive after 3 days with no login.
  • Accounts with between 100 and 1000 prestige will be flagged inactive after 7 days with no login.
  • Accounts with more than 1000 prestige are subject to being flagged inactive after 60 days with no login. We are not currently marking these accounts inactive, but we may do so in the future without further notice.
  • In addition, accounts which have only one city, and that city has high grievance with 0 loyalty will be flagged as inactive after 5 days with no login.
  • The only exceptions are accounts which have purchased Evony Cents. These accounts will never be flagged as inactive.
  • All accounts which are flagged as inactive will be deleted during the daily maintenance period. If you do not want your account to be deleted, log in once in awhile!

– Evony has made some patches to improve your game-play:

  • When a beacon tower detects enemy troops marching to one of your cities, the Reports icon will flash in red.
  • When there are finished quests, the Quest icon will flash in green.
  • Coordinates can now be removed from Coordinate List.
  • Mail and Reports systems have been optimized.
  • On the payment screen, your account email address is automatically filled in for new users, to help prevent errors processing.

– Evony made a contest called “Queen of Evony”. The goal of the contest is to give the community some fun and to reward women who are dedicated to Evony. The winner and the winner’s alliance will receive in-game rewards.

– With the release of the “Queen of Evony”, many men have been hopeful about a “King of Evony” contest. Will there be a contest for who is the greatest King? Who knows *wink*…..

That’s all for now people. Be sure to check back everyday for new guides and news!

Evony Servers Released

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

The Evony Browser Game’s beta version was closed on April 2nd, 2009. UMGE proceeded to opening the first official live server (server 1). Within two weeks, two more servers (Server 2 and Server 3) were released. They were all immediate successes with thousands upon thousands of players.

UMGE

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

UMGE stands for Universal Multiplayer Game Entertainment. UMGE is a Chinese based company that develops online multiplayer games. China is notably the world’s most successful multiplayer game market. Thanks to the demanding gamers’ quick feedback, China has been the perfect place to make innovative game developers, which in turn breeds revolutionary design and game play.

Founded by an elite group of avid mainland China game developers, UMGE grows organically through developing engaging, albeit relatively low budget, web-based browser MMOG games: Evony and Leuric.

Evony is multiplayer role playing browser game, and the background is set in medieval Europe. Players develop their own cities by training troops, researching technologies, consolidating fortification systems, and so on. Players climb up the nobility ladder by storming the continent. There are eight human forces: Worker, Warrior, Scout, Pikeman, Swordsman, Cavalry and Cataphract; and four machinery forces: Transporter, Ballista, Battering Ram and Catapult. Besides, the technologies family adds additional tweaks to the gameplay. They are all critical to winning. More than five thousand words of well-researched history of the fortifications and the progress of technology put the gameplay into context.

Leuric is a multiplayer role playing Flash browser game, in which members of the two factions, Viking and Atlantian fight against each other in the ultimate battle for supremacy. Players can choose to adventure the vast lands of Leuric or fight against other players in the battle arena. There are over 600 types of weapons and items to choose from, and they are all customizable to the character skills, making each character unique.

In addition, UMGE is investing substantially in developing Surge of Valor, a Window client-application-based MMOG. Surge of Valor takes a player into a world of fantasy to experience adventure and to fight monsters. There are four basic character classes: Warrior, Mage, Archer and Cleric join hands to defend Continent Aldema against the invasion of demons and evil forces. With new contents and features being introduced regularly, Surge of Valor is going to be an A-list MMORPG title.
